A Crazy Way To Get Your Rug Clean This Winter

Its snow time! When everything near you is covered with a white blanket of snow and you don’t have much to do except to stay inside. Then here’s a crazy idea to get your rug cleaned without any charges!

Do you know you can actually clean your rug with snow? Yes, you heard it right, snow. You can not only get your area rugs cleaned with snow but can also turn it new as snow-cleaning can actually intensify the color of your rug. So put on your jacket and snow boots and drag your dirty area rug outside for a chemical free and cost free cleaning. Follow the following steps to get a newer look of your rugs.
  1. Vacuum the back and front of your rug and gently shake it.
  2. Roll up your rug and spread it outside at a safe area with a lot of snow so that the rug can get accustomed to the temperature.
  3. Now turn your rug upside down and beat it with broom or stick. (Remember don’t pound it into the snow).
  4. After some time shake the rug out and then put it back in the snow.
  5. Stomp all over the rug again (Make sure to tread on every inch of the rug)
  6. Continue the procedure on both sides of the rug until it is clean.
  7. After the rug is cleaned take it back inside the house and let it return to room temperature.
  8. Before spreading the rug to its former place, don’t forget to put a towel or blanket beneath the rug to protect your flooring and to prevent a puddle.

Note: Only use the dry snow for this cleaning process and this procedure is only workable for wool, cotton and polyester rugs.
